Fuvahmulah City · Fuvahmulah Island
An easy reef dive on the eastern side of Fuvahmulah, a solitary oceanic island in the far south of the Maldives (Gnaviyani Atoll). Unlike the island's current-swept plateaus, this is a calmer coral wall that rarely sees strong flow, making it a gentle introduction to Fuvahmulah diving and comfortable for Open Water divers. The top reef sits at 5–7 m and steps down through 18–30 m before sloping into the blue, the slope dressed in hard corals. The resident highlight is big schools of batfish that hang over the reef, alongside giant trevallies, barracudas, groupers and snappers, with reef sharks patrolling the wall. Even here the deep water is close, so pelagic threshers still cruise past and oceanic mantas turn up in season. Boat entry.
