Fuvahmulah City · Fuvahmulah Island
An easy reef dive on the northwestern side of Fuvahmulah, a solitary oceanic island in the far south of the Maldives (Gnaviyani Atoll). What sets it apart is the coral: because this stretch of coast was never built on for harbour or other works, it carries some of the island's healthiest, most untouched coral gardens, running from a top reef at 5–7 m down through 18–30 m before sloping into the blue. It's a relaxed, Open Water–friendly dive. Pelagic threshers cruise past off the drop-off and oceanic mantas turn up in season, while giant trevallies, barracudas, groupers and snappers hold along the reef. Boat entry.
