An indo-pacific sailfish (Istiophorus platypterus), known locally as Fangandu hibaru, is a member of the family Xiphidae (order Perciformes). It reaches common to 2.7 m; max. 3.2 m. It is found across the Widespread in tropical and temperate waters of Indian and Pacific Oceans.
