About this site

An easy, healthy reef in Baa Atoll near the biosphere Core Area, with a top reef full of thriving coral and fish life that dives well as a drift. The reef starts as shallow as 1 m and drops away wall-like in places to 20 m. Blacktip reef sharks patrol the shallows while nurse sharks huddle together in crevices out of the current, and there's plenty more around — scorpionfish and lionfish, anemones in the shallows, hawksbill turtles, stingrays, and eagle rays, napoleon wrasse and tuna passing in the blue. Coral gardens and macro life reward a slower look, with nudibranchs among the corals. The reef connects to Kihaadhuffaru Thila, so the two can be explored on a single dive depending on the current.
